Paint? You bethca!

It is imperative that I start this post by telling you how awesome my best friends are. The female half is The BFF (if ya know what I mean), the male is her hubby, The Mister.

About 5 days before I was set to move I get a text from The BFF stating her game plan. She made arrangements for her Mom to watch her 8 month old, Lo, while she and her Dad, Timbo, painted my house Foxy's digs while I worked all day. She ended by saying "Please don't fight me!"

What was I supposed to say? She asked so nicely for me not to fight her.

The Mister had plans of his own. He rallied up a few of his guy friends to help move all my stuff into my house Foxy's digs. My stuff would still be sitting in my old apartment if it wasn't for The Mister.

They really are great friends. They both go out of their way to help anyone in need. Plus they're always there for me no matter what the deal. I just love them so.

Now, let's get to it. Here are a few before and afters of paint colors.

The Living Room

The Kitchen

The Master Bedroom

The Laundry Closet

Who picked these colors, anyways?

So far you've seen the green roof. Well brace yourselves, people, for some before photos of the inside of my house Foxy's Digs. The first 4 rooms/closet are the only ones that would be painted for now. The others (for now) will stay the color that they were when I bought my house Foxy's Digs.

1. The Living Room. I coined this color "terracotta/apricot/WTF?". It was hard to pinpoint the exact color, but whatever it was, it was wrong for this room.

2. The Kitchen. I really didn't mind the yellow, however I had other plans for this room.

3. The Master Bedroom. This color was a light blue, dare I call it a sky blue? Just like the Kitchen, I didn't mind the color however I had other plans so this one had to go. (This photo doesn't show the true color.)

4. The Laundry Closet, the pièce de résistance. This was the typical "builder's beige" but not for long.

The following rooms are staying the same for now.

5. Master Bath

6. Guest Room

7. Office/In Home Studio

A green roof? Really?

Before I ever met with my awesome realtor, I first found my house Foxy's digs browsing Zillow.com. I probably spent a solid 3 weeks on Zillow obsessively looking at houses in my choice neighborhoods all around Columbia.
When I found out my realtor had my house Foxy's digs on her list of Must See Homes, I secretly knew it was fate. So off we went to see my house Foxy's digs.

Now, my first thought about my house Foxy's digs was, "A green roof? Really?".
And I promise you that the first question everyone asks when finding out my house Foxy's digs has a green roof is, "Oh, is it tin?".
Second question after I've replied with "NO." is... "Really? A green roof?".

So, here it is. In all of it's green roof glory.

*Sigh* It's slowly growing on me... I guess.

Another blog about home renovations? Shocker!

Welcome to Foxy's Digs! A blog dedicated to the behind the scenes drama of being a first time homeowner.

You may be wondering, "Who the heck is Foxy?" "Does this lady call herself Foxy?" "Who does she think she is giving herself a nickname like that?". Calm down people, Foxy is my furbaby. She runs this joint. In fact, she's one of the main reasons I bought a house in the first place.

So join me as I take the adventure into a world I've never been apart of before... being the homeowner of the most expensive dog house ever and making it our own.
